Back to School Bash
This event is held a couple of weeks after school starts in August. Returning to school is never much fun, but this event gives the kids a chance to celebrate the beginning of school. The first event was held in 2004 with approximately 450 people attending. Just to mention a few of the fun things for the kids are a moonwalk, mechanical bull, clowns, petting zoo and door prizes. Local businesses participate by handing out goodies to the children. This is an annual event enjoyed by all.
Fall Extravaganza
This event is held every October. It has grown through the years; the last event was attended by 2,500 people from the community. Some of the things included at this event are the door prizes, rides, clowns, petting zoo and a cake walk. Local businesses in the community hand out candy and other goodies to the kids in a controlled safe environment. Costumes are optional but fun is mandatory.

Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner
This annual event is held in February to give thanks and recognition to our local Law Enforcement Officers. One officer is nominated from each organization and each nominee is recognized publicly with a trophy and gift certificates donated by local businesses. One Officer of the Year is chosen from the nominees and given special recognition each year. Our residents sincerely appreciate the safe environment and safe community, which our public safety officers ensure.

Annual Fishing Rodeo
This event is for Senior Citizens and children. We have hosted two separate fishing tournaments for senior citizens and kids. The “lake” was stocked with Rainbow Trout and the fishing was underway. Several fish were tagged and the lucky person who caught a tagged fish received a prize. Some of the prizes awarded were Playstations and bicycles. The event generated extensive family interaction in hooking and landing fish and baiting hooks by parents and friends of our seniors and children.

EMCID Scholarship Reception Dinner
This annual event is held to recognize a few of the recipients of the EMCID Scholarship. Representatives from Kingwood College were on hand to help us show our appreciation for the students that chose to continue their education through the use of the EMCID Scholarship Program.
